Where No Hero is Forgotten

A Crack in HR-2810, National Defense Authorization Act for 2018

Remember the Children Left Behind

This very week before August 2017 Congressional recess , the National Defense Authorization Act – HR 2810 will be introduced in the Senate . This bi-partisan bill is almost perfect  due to the hard work of Congress to ensure the sacrifices of our men and women in uniform are not forgotten.

But …there is a crack in the bill that needs to be fixed regarding transferability .  There are surviving dependents left out of receiving any of the education benefits their parents (veterans) earned before their death.  Their heroes earned these benefits before they died after serving honorably   .

They cannot come back from the dead now and assign the benefits but these benefits belong to their dependents – their children  . This happened to our very own family when our son’s father faced brain cancer and died before he could assign the benefits to our son ; after 25 years of serving this country as a combat pilot and commander .

Please read and support our request for an amendment so every child who is entitled to these education benefits receives them.

Please call your senators and let them know you support the Transferability request & amendment for ALL children of deceased veterans who served with honor as proposed by Homefront Hugs USA.
